Quince is a fruit appreciated since ancient Persia. Ancient Greeks considered it a sacred fruit and the Romans used to eat it raw just sweetening it with honey. Besides, it was also used to produce cider, considered a symbol of love and fecundity.
From this fruit a fragrant jam, a wintertime taste treat. It has a pleasant sweetness: the encounter between quinces and walnuts produces a peculiar balance worth discovering.
How to taste
Excellent for tarts (see recipe) and on toasts, delicious when matched with sheep’s ricotta. Original matching with aged cheeses.
How healthy it is
Quinces have positive properties for the whole immune system. In fact, experts ascribe to this fruit anti-inflammatory, astringent, analgesic, soothing, expectorant and tonic virtues.
The 50 grams box can serve as an original bonbonnière, a place card or a little homage for guests of luxury resorts or events participants.
